80 pictures in peace exhibit augment the work of 185 artists and artisans at Javits Center North.

In its fourth year, Contemporary Art Fair NYC producers Joanna and Richard Rothbard have invited a Woodstock-inspired peace exhibit and installation artists to show gargantuan works.

The Rothbards are co-sponsoring “Artists for Peace & the Environment” with the publisher of Fine Art Magazine, Jamie Ellin Forbes, who is also the director and curator of the exhibit of 4 x 8 paintings first seen at Woodstock 1999. Michael Lang, a force behind the 1969 Woodstock Festival, helped develop the 80 works by notable artists, musicians and show business personalities such as Trixie Garcia (Jerry’s daughter) and Lorraine Bracco (of The Sopranos). According to Forbes: “Michael Lang has had an ongoing commitment to the visual arts dating to the original Woodstock in 1969 which was officially called ‘The Woodstock Music and Art Fair — An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music,’ and continued as the ‘Wall of Peace’ for the 25th Anniversary of Woodstock held in Saugerties New York in 1994, followed by the Artists For Peace and the Environment exhibition at Woodstock ’99.”

“We are intrigued by the work of these award-winning installation artists who traditionally don’t exhibit at such venues,” said Richard Rothbard. “We invited them to share how they captivate by their approach to light and space and the passion they apply to their installations.” “Plato’s Cave” is a 2,500 square foot work by [Ms.] Noa Leshem-Gradus and “Digital Being” is by Taezoo Park.
